Information Library Management System (ILMS)

The college has fully featured library with several books, journals and periodicals. Library gives excellent support for students to work on their assignments, project reports and to prepare for their competitive exams. Our institution library encourages all students and staff members to make the best use and there is a constant addition of new books, volumes and titles in the field of Education. Library is the heart of our academic institution. Library functions like issuing renewal and receiving of books are maintained through Campus iLib –2007 Version. The digital library is equipped with sufficient Number of computers and is connected with both Wi-Fi and LAN for fast and seamless access of the Internet for streaming lectures, Inflibnet and e-Resources for the benefit of its users.

Library Features

The college library is the knowledge resource centre of the college. It caters to the needs of the staff and student-teachers. Library is well stocked with text and reference books. All the activities of the Library come under the supervision of the dynamic Librarian. The library is entirely automated with Campes iLib Software System for better service.

Rules and Regulations

Library Circulation Rules

· Number of books allowed to various members:
1. Graduate Students : 3 book
2. Post Graduate Students: 5 books
3. UG Faculty : 10 books
4. PG Faculty: 20 books
5. Non teaching staff: 5 books

· The period of loan will be 10 days including the day of issue for students and Non Teaching staff. For teaching staff, books are issued for a period of 3 months.

· A book can be renewed for further one term, if the book is not being reserved by any one. Thus a student and Non Teaching can keep a book for a maximum of one month and a Teaching staff can keep for a maximum period of three months.

· If a member wishes to keep the book after one renewal she has to present the book in the library and get it reissued (if available), after keeping the book in the Stock room for one week.

· A fine of Rs.1 per day will be collected from all the library members except staff members, if a book is kept beyond the due date stamped.

· A book which is temporarily on special demand may be lent for a shorter period than the prescribed period. The Librarian may at any time terminate loan / reduce the loan period as the time demands.

· Reference Books are issued on for loan for overnight only.

· Members are not allowed to sub-lend the books borrowed from the library.

· The person in whose name a book/periodical is issued will be held responsible for the care of the same. She will have to bear the compensation for any damage or loss.

· No book shall be issued which is not in good condition for safe handling. Condition of books will be decided by the Librarian.

· Periodicals are regarded as reference books and are not issued normally.

· A student failing to return the book or to pay the fine imposed on her and other charges to the library will not be allowed to borrow books, till the books, already on due from him is returned and fine paid.

· No transfer certificate or conduct certificate shall be issued to a student until the books have been returned and dues outstanding against the student discharged.

Library Regulations

· All the personal belongings such as text books, notebooks, files, briefcases, umbrellas etc. should be kept at the property counter. However calculator and plain paper for note taking can be brought inside the library.

· Strict silence should be observed within the library. The member must show his/her identity card when demanded by the library staff. Keep Mobile Phone in silent mode.

· Writing or underlining in the books, periodicals, maps etc. is not allowed.

· A student leaving the college before or after completing the course has to produce a Non liability certificate from the Librarian for getting any certificate from the university. Staff members also have to obtain Non liability certificate from the Librarian for relieving from the college, either on retirement or on long leave.

· Photocopying of materials other than Theses/Dissertations available in the library is permitted. Xeroxing may be made without violating the copyright act.

· Both staff and teachers should register their presence in the Library Gate register without fail.

Honors

The students will be selected for the BEST LIBRARY USER AWARD and honored in the College day celebrations every year.

Timings

The College Library functions from 8:30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. every day except on Sundays & Govt. Holidays throughout the year.

In academic circles all throughout the world, open and free access to intellectual knowledge is gaining traction. These materials can be valuable additions to online library resources.
